Reflections

  • If you had to describe your love for God, how would you describe it?

  • If you had to convince someone else of God's love for them, how would you share His love?

  • How has God shown His love toward you in the past week?

GraceNotes - My Reflections

Song of Songs 6:3 NIV

3 I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine; he browses among the lilies.

Songs of Songs is the ultimate love letter, both a poetic celebration of romantic love and a mirror of God’s divine affection for us. It’s like a beautiful duet where the ebb and flow of love between a husband and wife reflects the selfless, giving nature of God’s love.

At its core, this book is all about vulnerability and submission within a relationship. But don’t let that make you think it’s one-sided. It’s not just about giving, it’s about giving freely and fully. It’s about building each other up, cherishing one another, and pouring into your spouse—each moment and each word meant to uplift and strengthen.

Love in this book isn’t selfish or self-serving; it’s about mutual honor, respect, and devotion. It’s an invitation to practice selfless love, showing how a relationship, grounded in reverence and care, mirrors the relationship God desires with His people. So, let’s embrace the art of deep, selfless love, pouring into those closest to us, and walking in the same vulnerability and grace that God shows us.

Psalms 107:1 NIV

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

A psalm to anchor yourself in.

Psalm 112 NIV

Psalm 112 is basically the ultimate recipe for a life that’s truly blessed. It’s all about fearing God, living righteously, and being generous—and if you do that, blessings follow like clockwork. This person is steady, their family thrives, and even in tough times, they remain unshaken. They’re not just living for themselves either; they’re actively lifting others up, being generous, and building a legacy of goodness.

It’s a call to live a life that’s both solid and giving, where integrity and kindness overflow in every direction. That’s why I pray this psalm daily with my children—to inspire them to live like the psalmist, showing them how to walk in that same kind of steady, faithful way.
