GraceNotes - My Reflections

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 NIV

13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

After all the philosophizing and endless questions about life, Ecclesiastes hits us with the ultimate ‘final word.’ No need for overthinking—here’s the conclusion: Fear God, keep His commandments, and you’re on track. Why? Because God’s got the receipts on everything—even the stuff you thought was hidden in the fine print. Whether it’s good or bad, He’s bringing it into the light. So let’s cut to the chase, live with reverence, and walk in obedience, knowing that God sees all, and yes, it all counts!

Psalms 104:33 NIV

33 I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

A psalm to anchor yourself in.

Psalms 106:20 NIV

20 They exchanged their glorious God for an image of a bull, which eats grass.

Imagine trading the Creator of the universe, the One who spoke galaxies into existence, for…a cow that munches on grass. It sounds absurd, right? But how often do we do the same thing—swapping the glory of God for temporary fixes and distractions that can’t even moo their way into solving our problems? God offers us His unshakable presence, yet we often settle for things that can’t even digest without His design. Let’s not be like those who exchanged glory for grass. Keep your eyes on the One who never fades, never fails, and definitely doesn’t need a snack break!
