Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice???
For months, I had an ongoing battle with my husband and his brother about the gender of Baby J 2.0. I just knew in my spirit that this pregnancy was completely different than what I’d experienced with Jonas, and that I was going to have a little girl - but then again, could it be a boy?
On one hand, I was convinced that I would exclusively be a boy mom - I refused to believe that Justin could make a baby girl, but as time went on in my pregnancy, I became more at peace with the fact that I was probably, surely, one hundred percent having a baby girl and I argued that tooth and nail with anyone who said differently.
On my first pregnancy, I took an early test that would reveal the gender of the baby and literally the MOMENT that the results came in, Justin and I were opening the document like madmen to find out what our first baby’s gender would be. This time, I wanted to be surprised. At first, I’d flirted with the option of waiting until delivery to find out the gender, but, finally decided... “Who am I kidding!?” (I am way too nosy to walk away from a spoiler)
Instead of unraveling the results of Baby J 2.0’s gender on my own, I asked my doctor to share the results with my sister in law so that we could do some sort of reveal as a family. For a week, she kept the results concealed and never broke a sweat when we all had our debates over the baby’s gender.
One Saturday morning, we woke up and popped smoke bombs that revealed the gender, and let’s just say, Justin took a lap around our block with Jonas on his hip when we found out we’d be having a baby girl this December.
I should’ve known I wouldn’t escape life without having a little Joy, lol. Pray for me friends. 💞
X,
Joy
