Reflections

  • Has there ever been a time in your life when you didn't feel worthy to render service unto the Lord or His people? Why?

  • Have you ever had an Isaiah encounter? What were the circumstances surrounding that encounter?

  • Everybody is called to somebody. To whom do you think you're called?

GraceNotes - My Reflections

Isaiah 5:20-21 NIV

20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.

Ever felt like the world’s trying to convince you that up is down and left is right? It’s like the Bible says in Isaiah 5:20-21—“Woe to those who have eyes but cannot see, and ears but cannot hear.” It’s easy to get caught up in the noise and confusion, but I’m asking the Lord daily: “Help me see what You see. Help me love what You love and hate what You hate.”

In a world where sugar sometimes gets swapped for salt, where villains can be praised as heroes, I don’t want to live in a twisted reality. I want my spiritual vision on 20/20, so I don’t miss out on the goodness of the table He’s prepared for me.

Jesus walked with clarity—He knew the Father’s heart, and that’s my prayer too. I want to live in discernment, hearing His voice, walking His path, not missing a single blessing He’s laid out. Because when God opens your eyes, you don’t just see—you see.

Isaiah 8:12-13 NIV

12 “Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. 13 The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.

You ever catch yourself in a deep scroll, like one minute you’re looking at a nail tutorial and the next you’re 47 videos deep in a pop culture rabbit hole, trying to crack the case of… who knows what? I mean, I’ve gone from “Are mermaids real?” to “What’s a freak off and what’s in the baby oil?” in a matter of hours. It’s like Isaiah 8:12-13 called me out, telling me not to get caught up in every conspiracy or fear what the world fears.

The way I’ve been trying to understand why people are acting so strange—because seriously, what is going on out there?! But this scripture was a quick reality check. I don’t need to know all the mysteries of the universe. I need to be anchored in Jesus. Christ alone, corner stone, periodt.

When I focus on Him, all the noise, drama, and TikTok theories lose their grip on me. It’s freeing to remember that fearing God and trusting in His plan is all that really matters. The rest? It’s just background noise.
