Girls Gone Gospel: The Bible in 52 Weeks

Hello, hello, hey, hello, hello!

So happy you’re here. If you know me, you know I’m an avid reader: always reading something from Bookstagram, Booktok, something the Fantasy girls are raving about. But in the recent past, I kept hearing God tap me on the shoulder in the snarkiest way possible saying, “But can you get in your Bible like that, though?”

Every time I would hear His voice, I’d think to myself the ways that I would wake up and immediately read the verse of the day, or I would make sure to pick up a small devotional like Jesus Calling. And honestly, that’s fine - there’s no true rule book on how any believer should walk their walk, but I know a personal fact for me is, I’m not giving Him all I’ve got. I’m doing the whole, praying while I move around and that’s also fine, but why not take some dedicated time in my day truly seeking God through His living word.

So why are we here right now, ya ask?

Well, I’ve seen women all over my socials reading Dr. Kimberly D. Moore’s, “The Bible In 52 Weeks: A Yearlong Bible Study for Women,” and kept feeling a pull to just buy the book. But, also, taking it a step further, the first few weeks of this year have been full of other “aha moments”. In this season, I’ve been praying that Jesus help me and my loved ones to be more self-aware and for us to all come to know Him intimately…and what better way than taking out several moments of our days to just be immersed in His presence through the word.

He wants the Ninety-Nine, Too

The other part of this is that although Jesus went back for the one, He also wants to ninty-nine. My thought there is that Jesus called us all, but He also called community. I think that it’s so easy for us as women: wives, mothers, sisters, friends, entrepreneurs, colleagues, and the list keeps going; to forget the community that we need as we go through the day to day. It truly takes a village but also, “as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17). And with that, we truly need each other to be our best selves.

So, if you’ve talked to me in the recent day or so or someone sent this link your way, join us in reading through His word this year. I am believing for bigger, better, greater, all of the things, more than any of us can ask, think or even imagine. My personal goal is waking up every morning at 4:00a (which is my true sacrifice to God, because me and sleep go together real, real, real bad), but I implore you to join in on your own rhythm.

Clink the link here to answer a few survey questions - I would like us to hop in together once a week to have corporate prayer, but let me know what is the best time so I can get us all together on one accord. A couple of other questions are what would be the best way to tap in so we can have a fireside chat and discuss all the things we have uncovered on a monthly basis. Do you have any petitions that you would like made known to God as we delve into this season and if so, do you want to share with the group so that we can pray on one accord? And lastly, would you like to lead prayer at any point when we gather?

Love y’all all so much and can’t wait to seek His face with you!

XO,

Joy
